The Everest Day Celebration 2026 was a community event organised by the Southland Nepalese Society (SNS) in collaboration with the Non-Resident Nepali Association of New Zealand (NRNANZ). The event marked the historic first successful ascent of Mount Everest, recognising courage, resilience, and achievement.
This celebration brought together the Nepalese community and wider Southland residents, along with local organisations and guests. The aim was to promote cultural understanding, community connection, and recognition of shared values. Approximately 250 participants attended the celebration, making it a well-supported and successful community gathering.
